My husband and I discovered the Galiano Oceanfront Inn last fall when we decided to take a short getaway to the Gulf Islands. We had both never been to the Gulf Islands before and did not have any expectations. What we stumbled across was a place to rejuvenate, de-stress, endulge, and fall in love all over again.
From the moment you step off the ferry you will sense the relaxed pace of the island. Through the gates of the Galiano Oceanfront Inn you will find a little piece of paradise. The rooms are beautiful and we especially loved the outdoor wood burning fireplace and jacuzzi tub overlooking the ocean! We spent every night outside even though it was November! The spa is a truly unique experience with options like the Dead Sea Salt Flotation Therapy, or a massage in a cottage in the gardens. I had the pleasure of taking a Nia class in the Glass Garden Yoga Studio. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated through an incredible journey of dance, yoga, martial arts, and meditation.
We had planned to make our own food as the villa has a full kitchen but we had one meal at the restaurant Atrevida and fell in love. Not only is it beautiful with exposed beams and ocean views but the food is incredible. We were so lucky to be at the Inn during a "Dine and Dance;" The food and entertainment was top notch, but the best part was watching the owners enjoy the evening with friends and family. It made the Inn feel like home. The staff at the Inn were so accomodating, friendly, and fun that we felt completely taken care of. If you want to explore the island they have smart cars for rent. If you would rather check things out by foot there are hiking trails nearby. The best part was that we were able to charge everything to the room so we did not pull our wallets out until the end of our stay. It gave us a sense of being at an all inclusive.
We both had such a fantastic time, and left feeling relaxed and content.
On our anniversary in August we decided that instead of driving downtown we would take a boat ride (BC Ferries) to Galiano (1hr from Tsawwassen!) and have dinner at the Inn. We arrived at 5:30pm and had a beautiful oceanfront dining experience before getting on the ferry around 8:30pm to head home.
This has easily become a favourite place of ours, that we want to share with others. I am so excited to announce the winner of this giveaway on Thanksgiving Day! Good Luck!
